We are Gods, each of
us. We create a universe, our own. We create a reality that is inviolate,
our own. And in this universe, this reality, we are the centres. The Gods.
Our own Gods.
Then why the desire to look for a 'higher' being that somehow can be held
responsible for all that happens? Ah! the magic word is here - 'responsible.'
Unable to take responsibility for our own action or inaction, we look to place
the blame on something higher, more mysterious, more powerful - God, Fate,
Karma - the list goes on depending on where you are from and what you are
drilled to believe.
The Christian Bible tells us, and a lot of interpreters would have us believe,
that the sin Adam and Eve committed, greater than even disobeying God, was
trying to shift the blame and refusing to take responsibility. Therein lies
the inherent paradox. If you have to take the responsibility for all that
you do, where then is the possibility for a God at all, other than yourself.
Maybe the Asuras got
it right when they originated the phrase that has now been made famous in
the Aryan tongue - aham brahmasmi - I myself am God.
Cheers.
