A man happened to look into a well one night and see the reflection of the moon. Thinking that the moon had fallen into the well, he got a long rope with a hook attached to it and threw it into the well. The hook sunk in the water and got caught in a rock at the bottom of the well. The man pulled with all his might, thinking he had caught the moon with his hook. As he pulled, the rope broke, sending him sprawling on his back. When he looked up, he could see the moon and the sky and felt very happy. He said, "My back is broken, but I saved the moon."
