How the Moon and Stars Were Made
Go to Zine5 Interactive

The Minyong are a Northeast Indian people.

In the distant past, there were two Suns. It was always day, for the two suns shone in the sky taking turns. But a frog shot an arrow at one of the Suns and killed the fire in it. The sun lost its warmth and became the Moon. The splinters from the arrow became the stars. The Sun and the Moon shoot arrows upon the earth in their rage, but only the children of men die. The frog, cleverly, hides under water.
