The Concrete Jungle Comment on Krithika's "The Concrete Jungle"

One fine evening
Standing on our terrace
I could see big buildings
With roads in between
A tree here and a tree there
Some lampposts, temples and flower shops.
"Where is the beauty of Nature?"
I wondered and the next moment
In my mind's eye I could see
Me in the midst of awesome scenery -
A placid lake with colourful fishes
Swans inside and greenery all around
Doves, sparrows, rabbits, squirrels, parrots,
Love birds, peacocks and nightingales
Beautiful songs I could hear
And smell a wonderful scent in the air!
A shining black stallion stood near the lake
It told me that it would take me anywhere I like!
"Is this heaven?" I thought
And suddenly, this magic spell was broken
And I found I am on the terrace again.
"Beach," said somebody and another voice said,
"We are going to a hill station."
White sands near the blue waters…
Majestic mountains, cool rivers and dancing waterfalls -
Nature at Her Best! Man has made a world
Out of the one God gave him
And every now and then he retreats
From the world that he made
To visit God's Own Country!
