Write...
One fine Sunday morning, a friend of mine visited me. Finding my room in a mess, with papers and books of all kinds strewn about, he asked me what I was doing. When I told him I was writing an article for Zine5, he was amazed. He asked me why I take the effort to write, when I already have my hands full with work.
I told him that I write because I enjoy it. I told him about the pleasure of writing and launched into a monologue about what had inspired me to begin writing. At the end of it, he seemed quite convinced, and what's more, he said, "I would like to take up writing as a hobby too... but how? Tell me how I should begin... and what is the best time to write." In response to this, I said:
"When you look at something
That pulls at your heartstrings, Write...
When you muse about life
And the surprises it brings, Write...
When you are feeling low
And want to let off some steam, Write...
When you read your favorite novel
And want to join the writers' team, Write...
When you find something funny
That makes you laugh and laugh, Write...
When you decide to multiply your joys
And divide your sorrows in half, Write...
When with someone you want to share
The way you are feeling, Write...
When you see the Lord in small things
And before him you feel like kneeling, Write...
WRITE, because it makes you feel complete. WRITE, because you can do it anytime, anywhere..."
And now, he writes articles for his college magazine and regularly writes letters to the editors of many newspapers!
