You are my Destination

Go to Zine5 Interactive

The door's open wide,
My eyes fixed on it,
My heart filled with pride
Anticipation growing by the minute...

I know you will come home
'Coz you promised me,
I don't care if the whole world drones
That I'm completely crazy?

You won't let me down
I trust you with all my heart
I know, I'm not alone,
I go over our conversation from the start.

You said you'd come by
And take me away with you
Into a blissful world of love
Where everything is so nice and true...

I wait with longing in my heart
Love on my lips, hope in my eyes,
The clock ticks away
And darkness envelops the skies...

People say you will not return,
But my trust in you only grows stronger
Just then I hear footsteps outside
And I can hold back no longer...

I rush to the door to see you,
And I behold you in the driveway
Sleeping peacefully in your coffin
Unaware of the time of the day...

I close my eyes and whisper
"I love you so much my dear...
I have waited so long for you, and
You are so far away, yet so near..."

I open my eyes to see
The world around me for the last time...
My soul begins its eternal journey,
And the old clock begins to chime...
