Full Moon Light
Comment on Padmini's "Full Moon Night"

Dull, grey, cloudless sky
The red ball slowly, gradually
Journeying from the horizon's
Rippling waters, changing colour
Orange to yellow gleaming
Rising, rising up in the sky

It cleaves a path reflected
In the waters, narrow at first
As the little wavelets pleat
Themselves into a silvery spread
Diffusing light gradually
Wider, wider across the seas

Light and shadow glimmer
Like a monochrome photograph
While physics defines it as a mirror
Reflection of the sun to Moon
The light, hitting the waters, captured
Blink, blink by the human eye

Illusion and reality define
An immediate response to
The beauty of the full moon
On the shimmering waves
Words, painting, snapshot, stamped
Deep, deep in the mind's psyche.
