The Bluebird - I
Go to Zine5 Interactive

The little bluebird on the Mayflower tree
This I'll do if it I be -
I'll fly so high and talk to the kites
In my own way in sweet little tweets
I'll join the pigeons in their flight
They won't find me or they might.
To woo my mate, my lady love
I'll flutter my wings, coo like a dove
The flowers on that stately tree,
Full of honey, I'll suck like a bee
The butterflies, those lovely things
Don't know how to use their wings
I'll teach them well to soar in the sky
Steady their sides and make them fly
The sun when young is an apple ripe
Wonder if I could ever take a bite
The rainbow is close, can I pass under it?
I tried once though but never made it!
The little bluebird on the Mayflower tree
More I'll do if it I be.
