Religion Comment on Samartha's "Religion"
© 2002 Samartha Vashishtha

Always somewhere
I had something to repent of.

Like masturbation.

A missed syllable, sometimes.
A forgotten Tuesday.
Or a poem like this.

Unpardonable offences
That my golden gods
Didn't forget when they
Drew their curtains to eat;

When all this while in Orissa
Thousands lived on
Water and plain air.
