Think fishtank and my mind
conjured up only the gold fish.

Until I found out
there is the electric blue damsel, as vivid as its name,
then the monster oscar that reminds one of "Jaws"
but the iridescent guppy appeals to me the most.

The tetra is a treat to watch,
the ram or butterfly cichlid likewise,
The gourami is too mean for my liking
the loach too lowly.

Then there is the
sailfin molly, complete with a sail-shaped fin,
the tiger barbs, complete with stripes,
and the catfish, complete with whiskers.

Can't say all of them fascinate me
but their names sure do.
