You're halfway through a Crichton and you find repeated references to Game Theory. Suddenly, it is imperative that you know what Game Theory is. You jump on the net and search for it. And you end up with a lot of links that take you to long abstruse papers on the intricacies of Game Theory, but alas, nothing which tells you what you want to know.
If you've ever been in this situation, Hypography Sci-Tech is the place for you. This site calls itself a science and technology gateway - and rightly so. The name Hypography is a portmanteau word conjured up by Tormod Gulvog, the editor of the site. It combines hyperlink and bibliography, and is one heck of a science and technology resource.
For each topic, Hypography gives you a short, easy-to-understand introduction followed by a list of links that are authoritative in their elucidation of the topic. A host of scientific topics are covered, from chaos to superstrings, and all geared to the 'layest' of laymen! These introductions and the links together are the 'hypographies.'
Apart from the hypographies, the site also features "reviews, links, and news with background, reference, and other content related to current topics in science and technology."
Even if you have the faintest interest in science, Hypography Sci-Tech is a must visit. If science is not your cup of tea, Hypography is still a nice place to visit.
