Frozen In Time Comment on Zenwark's "Frozen In Time"
© 2002 Zenwark

At last you did let me sleep
The final, hopeless sleep
Breaths stifled, twisted for long
And I lie dead on the promise I couldn't keep

You were
My evening breeze, my endless sky
My breathing soul and my infinite joy
You still are… only I can't wake up
And touch or feel you today
Beyond a blur

But will you remember ever
Those times when we together sailed?
The moonlit foggy nights and we alone
Memories in mind are so hung, nailed
But no, I have no grudges against you
For we had no promises beyond few
"Will move on, no matter what" was one
That you deftly kept than I could have done

My pain is past numbness, silent
And you make me dream no more
'Cause dreams are molten magic
Seeping in brains that glow at core
They glitter and just don't enter
The dead and hearts sore

Don't wonder if some tomorrow you find
I toddle stranger-like into your way
Though dead can't walk but I may
For I have gleaned all that you threw away
